Mooresville – MI-Connection is making its connection to customers better already with the addition of 37 new channels on May 1. More than 70% of the channels to be added are among the most requested MI-Connection customers. MI-Connection will add one analog channel, 10 digital channels, two HD channels and 24 “multiplex” screens of premium channels to its lineup serving more than 14,000 customers in Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius.

Customers will enjoy the new channels at no additional charge. There is at least one new channel for each level of service – Preferred, Digital, HD and premium. “We really wanted to add new channels for our customers before the system upgrade is complete. “So, we found a way”, said James ”Junior” Miller, system general manager. In addition to new channels, some data customers have already noticed increased data connection speeds.

“Junior and his team were able to find space to add these channels before the system upgrade. That is what makes this news so exciting. Our customers get channels months before we had anticipated”, said Evan Webster, chairman, MI-Connection board of directors.

The system upgrade is scheduled to begin in April and be completed by February 2009. In addition to improvements to the physical system, customers will see better picture quality and system reliability, video on demand services, voice services, and “triple play” bundling of services, as well as approximately 55 new channels in addition to the 37 the system plans to add May 1.
