MI-Connection to Add Channels Most Requested by Customers
“Making Your Connection Better Already”

Mooresville – MI-Connection is making its connection to customers better already with the addition of 37 new channels on May 1. More than 70% of the channels to be added are among the most requested MI-Connection customers. MI-Connection will add one analog channel, 10 digital channels, two HD channels and 24 “multiplex” screens of premium channels to its lineup serving more than 14,000 customers in Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius.”

MI-Connection acquires cable system serving four municipalities in greater Charlotte area

MI-Connection completes its purchase of the former Adelphia cable and Internet system representing approximately 15,800 customers at a total purchase price of approximately $80 million. The system serves consumers in the towns of Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius, and in small areas of Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties. Time Warner Cable provided service to these customers as MI-Connection prepared for the transition.

Cable switch smooth so far, officials say

Officials of Mooresville's and Davidson's new cable and Internet system said last week's transition went exactly as expected.

Wes Rosenbalm, CEO of Bristol Virginia Utilities (BVU) -- the company hired by MI-Connection to manage the system -- told the board of directors that the transition from Time Warner Cable and the new system operations are going well.

Tonight, Mooresville and Davidson’s new $80 million cable and Internet system, MI-Connection (pronounced “My Connection”) will take the reins of 13,200 subscribers from its caretaker, Time Warner Cable.

MI-Connection Names Miller General Manager of New Cable, Internet Company

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – James R. Miller, Jr. has been named general manager of MI-Connection, the new cable and Internet company that will serve more than 15,800 customers in Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius. Miller joins the MI-Connection team with extensive operations management experience in the telecommunications realm, including field operations, construction and maintenance of outside facilities, and installation activities. His office will be located at 435 South Broad St., Mooresville.

Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius vote to buy cable system

MOORESVILLE - The towns of Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius voted Aug. 13 in favor of purchasing the former Adelphia system, forming a jointly controlled telecommunications firm called MI: Connection. Time Warner Cable has been operating the system temporarily while court and town action was taking place. Mooresville will purchase the approximately 10,000 subscriber system for $75 million with Davidson paying the town back $40 million. Cornelius will assign their current, and future, subscribers to MI-Connection but will not be paying any money toward the purchase.
